Laurel Lodge is
located in the upper town of Harpers Ferry, easily accessible by car,
train, bicycle or even on foot. We are one block away from the Appalachian
Trail Conservancy Headquarters and just up the hill from Harpers
Ferry National Park. The Lodge is located at 844
East Ridge Street.

Directions from Baltimore:
-
Follow
I-70 West toward Frederick.
-
In
Frederick, take the exit for US 340 West (Charles Town).

Continue
following signs for US Rt. 340 West. As you approach Harpers
Ferry, you'll cross the Potomac River Bridge into Virginia and then the
Shenandoah River Bridge.

After
crossing the Shenandoah River Bridge, take your second right onto Union
Street (at the Comfort Inn).

Follow
Union Street to the first stop sign where it intersects with Washington
Street.

Turn
right onto Washington Street. Follow Washington Street until
you reach your first left – Jackson Street.

Turn
left onto Jackson Street and follow it one block to the end.
Turn left onto Ridge Street. Laurel Lodge is the last house
on the right. (844 East Ridge St.)

Directions from
Washington, D.C.:
- From I-495
(Beltway) follow I-270 North (towards Rockville and Frederick).
- In Frederick,
exit onto I-70 West. When the exit ramp forks, bear left towards
Hagerstown.
- Within the
next 1/4 mile you'll need to cross all lanes of traffic to exit right
following the sign for 340 West/15 South towards Charles Town. Bear
left to continue onto 340 West/15 South.
- Continue
following signs for US Rt. 340 West. As you approach Harpers Ferry,
you'll cross the Potomac River Bridge into Virginia and then the
Shenandoah River Bridge.
- After
crossing the Shenandoah River Bridge, take your second right onto Union
Street (at the Comfort Inn).
- Follow Union
Street to the first stop sign where it intersects with Washington
Street.
- Turn right
onto Washington Street. Follow Washington Street until you reach your

 Directions from Hagerstown, MD:
- From
Hagerstown take I-81 South (Martinsburg).
- In
Martinsburg, exit to WV Route 9 East (the last of 4 Martinsburg exits).
- In Charles
Town, exit onto US 340 North (Harpers Ferry).
- At the stop
light in 4 miles (signed Harpers Ferry National Historic Park), turn
left (away from the park visitor’s center) onto Washington Street,
Bolivar.
- Follow
Washington Street through Bolivar and into Harpers Ferry. At the top of
the hill, take the first left turn onto Jackson Street.
- Follow
Jackson Street one block to the end. Turn left onto Ridge Street.
Laurel Lodge is the last house on the right. (844 East Ridge St.)

Directions
from Northern Virginia:
- From the
Beltway (I-495), go west on the Dulles Toll Road (Rt. 267).
- Continue on
the Dulles Greenway (also a toll road). At the end of the Greenway, go
west on Virginia Rt. 7.
- Take the exit
for Virginia Rt. 9 and turn right towards Charles Town.
- Soon after
passing through the town of Hillsboro, turn right onto Virginia Rt.
671. Rt. 671 ends at US Rt. 340.
- Turn left
onto US Rt. 340 West.
- After
crossing the Shenandoah River Bridge, take your second right onto Union
Street (at the Comfort Inn). Follow Union Street to the first stop sign
where it intersects with Washington Street.
- Turn right
onto Washington Street. Follow Washington Street until you reach your
first left – Jackson Street
- Turn left
onto Jackson Street and follow it one block to the end. Turn left onto
Ridge Street. Laurel Lodge is the last house on the right. (844 East
Ridge St.)

Arriving by Bicycle or on Foot
Laurel
Lodge is a short walk away from the Appalachian Trail (AT) in Harpers
Ferry. A side trail links the AT to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy
headquarters. Laurel Lodge is one block beyond at 844 East Ridge St.
Harpers
Ferry is across the river from the C&O Canal Towpath (part of a
trail linking Pittsburgh and Washington, DC). The town is accessible
from the trail via a staircase and railroad/foot bridge across the
Potomac.
Laurel
Lodge is a short but steep walk or pedal up the hill from the bridge.
Pickups may be available for those arriving by bicycle or on foot.

Arriving by Train
Harpers Ferry is served by both Amtrak
(Chicago-Washington, DC) and
MARC Commuter Trains. Laurel Lodge is a short but steep walk
up the hill from the train station. Pickups may be available for those
arriving by train. Please call us in advance to make arrangements.
